Wayne Rooney drops Leeds admission as he makes new Premier League relegation prediction on MOTD
Leeds got their first away win of the Premier League season on Saturday.
Leeds’ 3-1 win over Wolves at Molineux was a real statement for Daniel Farke’s side, as they picked up all three points on the road for the first time since winning promotion from the Championship.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored his first goal in Leeds colours and put in a brilliant display, leading the line for the Whites.
Leeds now sit 11th in the table and will look to bring the momentum into their next fixture against Bournemouth in a week.

Wayne Rooney gives Leeds fans hope with relegation prediction
Leeds’ win at Wolves could have huge implications for their fight to stay in the Premier League this season.
Farke’s team taking points off a potential relegation rival away from home could prove invaluable at the end of the campaign.
Wayne Rooney has now given a prediction on which team he worries about getting relegated this season.
Speaking on Match of the Day, he said: “I’m a bit concerned for Brentford. Losing Thomas Frank is a big factor in that, and they’ve lost some big players as well.
“I think with the promoted team coming up, they’re all doing okay, so I think it’s going to be a long old season for Brentford, and I’ve got worries they possibly could go down.”
This should be welcome news for Leeds fans, who will see Brentford as another potential relegation rival.
If Rooney thinks the likes of Leeds can stay up ahead of established Premier League teams, then it should spell good news for those at Elland Road.

New signings deliver for Leeds
Saturday’s win for Leeds showed the promise of their summer recruitment with three of their new signings finding the net.
Anton Stach’s sublime free-kick, alongside first goals for Noah Okafor and Calvert-Lewin, will hopefully be signs of things to come.
Summer signings | Fee |
Noah Okafor (AC Milan) | £18 million |
Anton Stach (Hoffenheim) | £17 Million |
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton) | Free |
Leeds will need these new signings to keep delivering if they have any hope of staying up this season.
Their summer recruitment has come under scrutiny early this season, but more showings like Saturday will quiet critics.
