Vinnie Jones thinks Bielsa will be one of the great Leeds United managers
Vinnie Jones believes Marcelo Bielsa will go down as one of the great Leeds United managers and that he would love to have played for him.
Speaking in his online column for EASYODDS, the former footballer turned film star lauded the Argentine and claimed that he “intrigues” him.
Oddly, Jones also revealed that he would love to have played for Aston Villa’s Dean Smith, which was a bit of a surprise, but it was no surprise to hear that he would have liked to play for Bielsa.
He said: “Who would I like to be playing for now?
“Two managers that stand out for me at the moment – and you might be surprised at one of the choices – are Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds and Dean Smith at Aston Villa.
“Bielsa intrigues me. He has a fantastic footballing brain, is a renowned tactician, and will be one of the great Leeds managers, mark my words. His football is fast and furious, but with a tough-as-teak mentality, too.”

Leeds have had some incredible managers in the past, who have won all range of competitions.
So, it is interesting to hear that Bielsa could be classed as one of the greatest they have ever had.
Certainly, in recent times, the Argentine is the best manager that the Whites have had for a long time and the way he dragged the team up from the Championship to where they belong deserves huge credit.
However, when compared with some of the older managers like Don Revie, has Bielsa achieved that much?
You could certainly argue that he hasn’t, but he is arguably a modern-day legend instead.
Leeds have been blessed with some fantastic managers in the past, and we just aren’t sure Bielsa stacks up to them yet.
However, if he were to win a trophy, then we think that would all change, and Bielsa would become one of Leeds’ greatest managers.
