Vinnie Jones makes title prediction after latest round of Championship results

Vinnie Jones thinks that Leeds United have a great chance of pipping West Brom at the top and winning the Championship, not just getting promoted, after the latest round of results.

The Championship keeps on surprising this season and after Leeds smashed Hull 4-0 on Saturday, Wigan shocked the Baggies at the Hawthorns winning 1-0.

That’s left Leeds just one point behind West Brom at the top, with a five-point gap back to third.

Writing in his column for EasyOdds Jones said, “It was great to see Leeds United get back on track at the weekend. Now they can push on for the Championship title, not just automatic promotion.

“Losing at home to Wigan wasn’t in the script for the Albion, but Bielsa’s side have form there themselves. Now it gives the Whites a real chance.

“West Brom have a healthy goal difference but the Championship is all about points and fortunes change quickly – Leeds look on the up now.

“Marcelo Bielsa is the manager to take Leeds back up to the big time and his team are one of the best footballing sides in the country.”

One of the goals Leeds scored against Hull backs up what Jones is saying – Leeds are one of the best footballing sides in the country.

They showed it against Arsenal, without scoring, but this goal shows exactly what Leeds are all about and you’d be hard-pressed to find a football fan from any team not impressed with it.

It’s a sweeping counter-attack that blows Hull off the pitch, with some fantastic first-time football and a brilliant finish by Tyler Roberts.

The next three games are going to be absolutely key, against Huddersfield and Cardiff, before a showdown with third-placed Fulham at Elland Road.

Win all three and Jones’ vision will be on the verge of coming true.
