View: Marcelo Bielsa will be pleased with Leeds United youngster Coady Drameh

Leeds United youngster Coady Drameh is performing extremely well for his new club Cardiff City, and it should please Marcelo Bielsa.

The Whites boss was reluctant to let him go out on loan in January, as he felt, staying at the club would be ideal for the 20-year-old defender.

However, the youngster wanted to get some exposure and eventually moved to Cardiff on loan till the end of the season.

The move has worked well for him as he has featured regularly for the Bluebirds. His performances have been praised by the Cardiff boss as well.

Steve Morrison was effusive about the England U-21 after his side drew against Blackpool recently.

He said, as quoted by Wales Online: “He has been excellent. He was excellent in his first game, he was excellent at Barnsley, it was a right scrap but there were a few things when he was running back and making last-ditch tackles,”

Bielsa, irrespective of whether he stays or not, has laid a solid foundation at the club where he gave opportunities to many young players from the academy.

The Argentine was concerned that Drameh’s gradual progress could be hampered if he moves on. However, it seems, he has matured as a player, and he is playing a big role in Cardiff’s attempts to save themselves from getting relegated.

Drameh is a player with big potential, and he has the talent to be a regular for the senior side. The loan spell, if it works well, will do a world of good for him.

He has a contract at the Yorkshire club till the summer of 2024. It will be interesting to see if Bielsa allows him to move again on loan to Cardiff or prepare him strongly for the next season.
