View: Leeds United must move for Omar Colley in January window
During the summer transfer window, Leeds United showed keen interest in signing Omar Colley from Sampdoria.
Club Doria 46 reported in August that Leeds were keen to sign the 29-year-old defender. West Ham were also linked with a move, but no club came up with a concrete offer to match his asking price.
It was reported that an offer of only £12.7 million would have been enough to secure a deal for the Serie A defender.
Despite missing out on his signature, Leeds have been persistently linked with the Gambian centre-back, who has been ever-present for his club this season.
Colley’s agent, Cheikh Fall, has suggested an “offer of his life” would only persuade the defender to switch clubs in January.
“The reasoning is always the same: he can leave Sampdoria only if a great offer arrives, let’s say the offer of his life,” said Fall, as quoted by TMW.

“He is fine at Sampdoria and Genoa, he will never leave this team for clubs and salaries of the same level or slightly higher…and in fact, in recent years we have always rejected similar offers.”
Colley would have been a fantastic signing for the Whites during the summer, but they have a chance to wrap up his signing again in January.
There are suggestions that Leeds could move for the 24-cap international to sort out their porous defence. They must not miss out on this opportunity.
Robin Koch has once again become a victim of a long-term injury, while other defenders haven’t done well in keeping clean sheets.
Marcelo Bielsa has shared concern over the lack of depth in the squad, and adding another quality experienced defender to the ranks will not do any harm to the team.
So far, Leeds have struggled to match the standards they reached last season. With only one win from nine matches, they are flirting with relegation, sitting just above the danger zone.
While the Whites have struggled without Raphinha and Patrick Bamford in recent games, concerns at the back cannot be ignored. It won’t be easy to prise him away, but a tempting offer could change his heart.
In other Leeds United news, Paul Robinson has vented his fury at this major incident against Wolves.
