View: Leeds United can pull off transfer masterstroke by signing Fabio Carvalho

Leeds United can sign Fulham ace Fabio Carvalho in the January window for an absolutely bargain fee, and he would be a cracker of a signing.

According to a recent report from The Sun, a host of clubs including Leeds and West Ham are keen to sign the 19-year-old whose contract is expiring at the end of the season.

Carvalho is yet to put pen to paper, and Fulham would be open to selling him this month if they get the right offer.

It has been claimed that the Hammers are ready to pounce for the “incredible” Fulham talent, and it could take a bid of around £5 million to secure his signature.

Premier League giants Liverpool are also keen but Leeds must not miss out on this opportunity.

While signing a central midfielder is a top priority for the Whites, there is a real chance of getting a deal done for the Fulham starlet now than waiting for him in the summer, when the competition for him will be fierce.

He has made giant strides at the Championship club, managing 33 goals and 19 assists for them already. This season, he has scored seven goals and two assists.

Marcelo Bielsa loves players who are versatile and technically gifted, and that’s why he ticks the bill. He can operate on either wing but he is most comfortable playing in the no 10 role.

It will be a transfer masterstroke from Bielsa if Leeds can secure a deal ahead of other suitors.

Regular followers of Championship football can vouch that he is technically sound and can develop into a top-quality player under a great manager.

Leeds board have supported Bielsa in the market whenever he felt the need to buy someone. The amount being quoted is well within their budget and at that price, it’s absolutely a no-brainer.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have made a major bid for a player who could replace Raphinha.
