The online outlet reported on their website that French club Nice eventually won the race for the 21-year-old.
Brahimi could have made a return to England, where he has been with Middlesbrough before in their academy.
Brahimi was sent on loan to Le Mans last season, where it was said it kickstarted his career yet again.
The attack-minded winger scored 12 goals and added 10 assists as he put his name around Europe yet again.
Reims made the decision to accept Nice’s offer for Brahimi, though, who moved quickly to win the race last month.

Leeds never made a serious move for the Algerian citizen, or it would have been everywhere in the media throughout January.
Nice made their move quickly, and they got a deal over the line, so that was another name we could cross off immediately.
Being involved in 22 goals is no easy feat in whichever league, but there would be serious questions regarding if he could cut it in the Premier League.
Brahimi couldn’t make it at Middlesbrough, so let’s be honest, there is no chance he could have at Elland Road under Marcelo Bielsa.
