Victor Orta to speak with Rayo Vallecano this week as Leeds United eye Andoni Iraola appointment
Victor Orta will reportedly speak to the Rayo Vallecano hierarchy in the coming days as Leeds United want to appoint Andoni Iraola.
According to Football Espana [8 February], the Leeds sporting director has already flown into Spain as he looks to finalise the process of the new manager.
Iraola has achieved wonders at Rayo this season as the Spanish side are fifth in the La Liga standings.

Right one for the job?
Unlike Jesse Marsch, Iraola has actually proven that he can get the results and punch above his weight in one of the biggest leagues in the world.
Having world class teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona in the league means that it’s extremely hard for one of the teams with the smallest budget to compete.
However, Iraola’s men have remained undefeated against the league’s big two and even managed to beat Madrid 3-2.

This wasn’t a fluke result as they created more chances and had twice as many efforts as the defending champions did.
It’s pretty evident that a bigger club is going to come in for the Spaniard and that could very well be Leeds if they play their cards right.
Hopefully, the discussions Orta has with the hierarchy prove to be fruitful and they can wrap it up in time before the Manchester United game on Sunday.
