Victor Orta spotted mocking Leeds United fans after Premier League win v Bournemouth
A video has emerged of Victor Orta mocking Leeds United fans after the Whites’ dramatic 4-3 victory over Bournemouth at Elland Road.
Jesse Marsch’s side snatched a late winner through Crysencio Summerville to ease the pressure on the board and the American.
However, a video (Mark Cummins, personal Twitter, 6 November) of the Spaniard has emerged of him shushing a Leeds fan who was filming him and sarcastically shouting “sack the board” after fans had previously shown their discontent during the game.
Not a good look
This is not a good look for Orta, particularly after Leeds were absolutely woeful in the first half of the match, and could’ve been four or five goals behind. It was good to see the Whites bounce back with some late drama again but ultimately it won’t be a sustainable way for Marsch and his men to go about their work.
Shushing your own fans isn’t the smartest thing from the sporting director, who should instead be embracing and enjoying the success with the Elland Road faithful. Let’s hope this isn’t the start of a divide between the fans and some of the key decision-makers at the club.
The only positive is at least Orta shows a bit of passion and clearly cares about the outcome of results at Elland Road. He certainly has a big job on his hands in the coming months with the January transfer window fast approaching.
If Leeds can add a left-back and a striker to their ranks, they stand a really good chance of climbing up and away from the relegation zone.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are set to jet out to Spain with a major decision being made behind the scenes at Elland Road.
