Victor Orta now has Leeds United shortlist for new left-back, no names are in public domain
Victor Orta now has his shortlist for a new left-back at Leeds United this summer, according to Beren Cross.
The Leeds Live journalist has shared that none of the names currently being targeted have been in the public domain, with unnamed options being eyed.
The Whites are in the market now for a new option in that area with Junior Firpo out long-term and Leif Davis’ move to Ipswich Town being confirmed on Monday [25 July].

Writing in his latest Leeds Live column, Cross shared an update on the hunt for a new left-back at Elland Road.
“Victor Orta has already added seven new faces to the squad, with two of those earmarked for under-21 football, but he could yet get busier in both directions before this window is over,” he wrote.
“There is little secret in the club’s desire for a striker and a left-back, but departures are also in the offing.
“The left-backs on Orta’s shortlist have not bled into the public domain as yet. Leif Davis’s exit underlined the club’s desire for more experience and quality than he could currently offer in that role.”

Closing in?
Finally, it looks as though some progress is being made.
Eyebrows were raised when Davis’ move to Ipswich was confirmed last night, with surely a replacement close to coming in given the current state of our squad.
We are less than two weeks away from the Premier League season getting back underway with that game against Wolves, but yet we have no recognised left-back.
Pascal Struijk struggles there and Jack Harrison certainly cannot play there no matter what anyone thinks, and a new arrival has to be in place within days.
That will then give them the chance to play in the final friendly against Cagliari and then get more than a week’s worth of training in before starting against Wolves.
If Orta cannot make that happen, as well as a new striker, we have wasted the perfectly good start to the window by not keeping up the momentum.
This shortlist is now certainly one to watch.
