Victor Orta must stop Leeds United from losing Mateusz Klich this summer
Jesse Marsch does not seem to see Mateusz Klich as the first choice option for Leeds United this summer in central midfield.
In the first league game of the season, the American went for Tyler Adams and Marc Roca to play in midfield with Rodrigo in front of them.
However, the Poland international was brought on in the second period and arguably helped transform the game and ensured that Leeds beat Wolves 2-1.
With this being a World Cup year, if Klich feels undervalued by the manager, he will certainly look for a move as this could be the last time he features in the biggest football tournament in the world.
Marsch is on the track of making his biggest mistake since moving to Elland Road as he’s not convincing the 32-year-old to stay put.
He could guarantee him a certain number of games as there are few in this Leeds side that have the footballing brain he possesses.
Additionally, he’s also got two years of Premier League experience and many more in England during Leeds’ time in the Championship.
There was a reason why he featured more than any other Leeds player under Marcelo Bielsa and he cannot be shown the door like this.
Victor Orta needs to sit down and talk to Marsch about the importance of having a player who knows the league, especially when most of the new signings are still adapting to life in England.
If Klich is given a guarantee of 25-30 league appearances, even if some are from the bench, he would find that fair but these assurances need to be coming from Marsch and they need to come soon.
