Victor Orta lays sufficient groundwork for Leeds to sign Brenden Aaronson – Graham Smyth
Victor Orta has laid sufficient groundwork for Leeds United to sign RB Salzburg star Breden Aaronson in the summer.
That’s according to Graham Smyth, who has reported that the Whites are now confident of striking a deal later in 2022.
It has been reported that will be the target, but now it looks as though it is an achievable target for Leeds, who have the plans in place after talks.

Writing for the Yorkshire Evening Post in reaction to deadline day, Smyth shared that there is confidence regarding a future deal.
“The one they actually wanted and tried to get was, and is, Brenden Aaronson, for whom they placed a pair of bids that amounted to around £15m and £20m respectively,” he wrote.
“Victor Orta laid sufficient groundwork that the club are confident they can get their man but it wasn’t to be in January.
“Red Bull Salzburg felt no inclination to sell, the player evidently did not agitate for a move and Leeds will have to return with a fresh approach come the summer.

Confident.
So then, it looks as though all eyes are already on the summer.
This will mean nothing if Leeds are relegated from the Premier League, and there will be slight fears after no significant January business to help the cause.
Marcelo Bielsa will be confident with what he has, but injuries are ravaging through the squad at this moment and there is nothing he can do about that.
We can’t rely on youth players every single week, so bringing in someone with the quality that Aaronson possesses would have been perfect.
At least Orta has laid the groundwork now, meaning all that may need to be done in the summer is the fee and then getting the American across to Elland Road.
This groundwork may prevent Salzburg from upping their price should Aaronson shine in the second half of the season, fingers are crossed we get this one done.
