Victor Orta and Angus Kinnear at Thorp Arch as Leeds United ramp up manager hunt
Leeds United director of football Victor Orta and chief executive Angus Kinnear are both at Thorp Arch conducting interviews with leading candidates as the Whites ramp up their search for a new manager.
According to Leeds Live [7 February], the club board were at the training ground on Tuesday morning to interview leading candidates to replace Jesse Marsch following his sacking [Sky Sports, 6 February] on Monday.
The Daily Star [7 February] reports that the Whites are considering Carlos Corberan, Kjetil Knutsen and Ange Postecoglou to replace the outgoing American.
The report in Leeds Live [7 February] claims that the complicating factor in all of the club’s desired managerial targets is their employment status with their respective clubs and that chairman Andrea Radrizzani who flew to the UK [7 February] on Tuesday will remain a key component in the recruitment process.
Big decision
Considering how the Whites arguably rushed their decision to appoint Marsch following Marcelo Bielsa’s sacking last year, it’s is incredibly vital the club board do not make the same mistakes in their next managerial appointment.

Their Premier League star status next season depends on this decision which means it’s arguably their biggest one to date.
There are some exciting candidates in the frame, none more so than West Bromwich Albion manager Corberan whose immediate transformations at both the Baggies and Huddersfield Town certainly make him an attractive proposition especially considering he first honed his coaching craft with the club’s under-21s and worked under Bielsa a few years ago.
His top-flight experience will of course be a detriment to any decision but the same can be said for many of their alternative targets, which again reinforces the fact that this will be a big decision for the Leeds United hierarchy. It must be taken with considerable care and thought.
