Victor Orta already found Kiko Casilla replacement at Leeds
Victor Orta has already found the replacement for Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, according to the Mirror.
It is suggested that the Whites may go for another young keeper to add to their ranks and provide cover for Illan Meslier.
Casilla is said to have been wanting first-team minutes more regularly, and will find that on loan at Elche.
The La Liga side also has a permanent option to buy Casilla, something that will likely be taken next summer.
Leeds will be paying part of his wages throughout the loan spell, but that is little cost to pay to get rid of some of that salary.
Casilla was said to be on £30,000, and if Elche are even paying 50% of that, it should be enough to bring in another young promising goalkeeper.
Orta is always one step ahead of the ball, and this move wouldn’t have been sanctioned if there weren’t plans already in place.
Elia Caprile will step up in the immediate future, but there may already be a new keeper in place before the pre-season friendlies start.
The Spaniard is worth his weight in gold to Andrea Radrizzani, and proved that with his pursuit of Junior Firpo over the past month – isolating in Spain just to meet him in person, rather than Zoom.
If the replacement is already identified, a new signing could be on the cards imminently, depending on how well talks start between the parties.
Should the young keeper be highly rated at his current club, it may take some hard talks to get the deal over the line.
Meslier is the man at Elland Road, and we can imagine it will be someone potentially as unknown as he was before making the step up under Bielsa.
