Lucas Radebe has backed Leeds United to beat both Brighton and Southampton in the Premier League in the fortnight.

The Whites welcome Brighton to Elland Road on Saturday, with the Seagulls having to play Manchester City tomorrow before the trip to Yorkshire.

Radebe claimed that Leeds need to beat the teams around them and that six points in these games could see them jump into the top half.

Speaking on the Leeds United Show, Radebe claimed that these are the games that the Whites need to be winning.

"The results can go either way, they're all exciting games," he said.

"These are the teams that we should get maximum points, not to disrespect the other club, especially if we are playing at home - it's very, very important.

"I think we will do. If we play as good as we know we can, and surely that's the six points that will do us well in the league."

The game against Southampton does look set to be postponed.

Phil Hay reported that Leeds are in talks to cancel this fixture for the Saints to complete their FA Cup fixture with Shrewsbury - something they are open too.

That makes the Brighton game even more important, with the Whites then having to wait more than a week before their game against Newcastle.

Looking at the game with the Seagulls, it's a game we have to target. Graham Potter's men are struggling, and also having plenty of key players missing.

Leeds are currently nine points ahead of their next opponents, and taking that gap into double figures could be critical in the bid to stay in the Premier League.

We need to bounce back, and quick.
