Venezuela coach labels Leeds United ace Luis Sinisterra 'shocker' on international duty

Venezuela coach Rafael Dudamel has labelled Leeds United ace Luis Sinisterra a ‘shocker’ on international duty for his performance with Colombia.

Playing against Mexico in a friendly, it was due to his two goals that saw his nation overcome a two-goal deficit to win 3-2 on Tuesday.

Blu Radio quoted Dudamel to praise the 23-year-old as he helped turn the game around for his side.

He said, “The presence of Sinisterra In the second half it was an absolute shocker, it was that footballer who gave him imbalance and quality to overflow and give depth to Colombia.

“He deserved (to be chosen as the man of the match). Two goals that allowed Colombia to get into the match so that Wilmar Barrios came later with that great goal from mid-distance.”

Raphinha-esque?

Sinisterra’s signing gives memories of Raphinha as he was a relative unknown before moving to Elland Road but quickly burst onto the scene.

Surely, the Brazilian was not even looked at for his international side, but his performances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side made him part of Tite’s plans.

With Sinisterra, despite being an established international, he is still not a player who’s being looked at by Europe’s top sides which made it easier for Leeds to sign him.

There are feelings that he will go on to do extremely well at the club and the fans will be hoping that no big club comes in for him.

He’s showing that he can play on the Champions League stage as well as that’s how talented a player he appears to be.

Hopefully, he is not too jet-lagged when he flies in to Yorkshire as Jesse Marsch will be wanting to count on his services for the Aston Villa clash on Sunday.

In other Leeds United news, an Elland Road-linked midfielder is now certain to leave his club in the coming weeks as a host of Premier League clubs are vying for his services.
