‘Value for money’ – Sky Sports pundit wowed by Leeds transfer report on ‘fantastic’ player

Darren Bent has been raving about the pre-agreed fee that Leeds United struck to sign Jack Harrison on a permanent basis in the summer.

According to Football Insider, Marcelo Bielsa wants to make Harrison, 23, his first signing of the summer transfer window if Leeds win promotion from the Championship.

Harrison has spent the last two seasons on loan at Elland Road from Manchester City but it is understood that the Whites have the option to sign the winger permanently for just under £10million this summer.

The former New York City ace has been in incredible form for Leeds this season and Sky Sports pundit Bent can see why the Yorkshire giants would want to sign him for the price that has been already agreed.

“I think it is value for money, I think he’s done well,” the former England striker told Football Insider.

“What’s different is that managers will say this. Unless there’s an agreement in place, you have to take it with a pinch of salt because if they get promoted, all of a sudden you’re shopping in a very different market.

“When you get promoted it’s a different market so as well as he’s done, and he’s been fantastic, the Premier League is a different class.”

Harrison is a contender for the player of the season award at Elland Road after a tremendous upturn in his form in his second loan spell at Leeds.

This term, the winger has scored five goals and supplied seven assists in 37 Championship appearances but that does not even begin to justify how good he has been.

Harrison has shown Premier League quality and no matter what, Leeds need to trigger that permanent deal in the summer otherwise they could be missing out on a superb signing.
