Update emerges on Illan Meslier future as Leeds United to offer Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow regular game time
An update on Illan Meslier’s Leeds United future has been shared as Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow fancies a move, according to NUFC Blog.
The reliable news outlet for all things emerging from St James’ Park claims [22 July] that the 32-year-old prefers Leeds to Bournemouth this summer.
As the Whites plan to offer the English stopper regular game time, Meslier is now expected to seal his exit.

Loan him out
Meslier had a bad 2022/23 campaign and even lost his spot in the Whites starting eleven once Sam Allardyce took over.
Joel Robles, who replaced him, is no longer at Elland Road so the Frenchman is the de-facto first choice for Daniel Farke.
However, interest in signing another keeper means that Farke may not be fully certain about the fact that Meslier is the right man between the sticks.

He was linked with clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United not too long ago, and still has the potential to become a top keeper.
Thus, a loan move could be ideal for him as he could be a future first-choice keeper once he regains his form and confidence.
It remains to be seen if he’s open to that or if he feels that a permanent exit will be ideal for him.
