Unai Emery accuses Leeds star of cheating after ‘Aston Villa manager went berserk’
Jayden Bogle sparked an animated reaction from Aston Villa manager Unai Emery in Leeds’ 2-1 defeat on Sunday.
Despite Lukas Nmecha’s controversial early goal, Morgan Rogers scored a second-half double to condemn Leeds to a sixth defeat in seven matches at Elland Road.
The result leaves the Whites 18th in the Premier League, having only registered 11 points in 12 matches.
Leeds’ defeat to Aston Villa not only has raised questions over Daniel Farke’s future in LS11, but a moment in the match saw Emery accuse Bogle of diving to win a foul.

Unai Emery furious with Jayden Bogle’s alleged dive
Bogle has been exposed at times at right-back this season and looks out of depth when the defence is struggling around him.
Elland Road became more fractious throughout the second half, and the tension was seen from both sets of teams, with Emery furious at Bogle for going down easily moments after Rogers’ first goal.
Leeds Live reported that “Emery went berserk” at the defender, despite the home bench getting to their feet and applauding his work.
| Leeds | Stat | Aston Villa |
| 18 | Fouls committed | 16 |
| 5 | Yellow cards | 1 |
Farke hasn’t spoken out on the incident, but there’s no reason to suggest that Bogle would cheat to gain an advantage, especially something like this that happens every week.
Leeds are now expected to be relegated, and their fragile mentality is clearly costing them in matches that go down to the wire.
The contrast between a Leeds side that looks so devoid of confidence and a Villa team under Emery, who believe they can win no matter how they play, was worrying.
A huge reason for this is their inability to deal with crosses from wide positions, which has been a recurring issue in recent matches.
Leeds’ defensive recruitment will cost them Premier League safety
In Leeds’ 2-1 win versus West Ham, Mateus Fernandes was unchallenged in the box as he headed home a consolation goal.
The following defeats to Brighton, Nottingham Forest, and Villa have all seen goals conceded from crosses or cutbacks that should have been simply avoided.
Gabriel Gudmundsson and Bogle have both been susceptible to not tracking their wingers, with little help ahead of them, and Farke’s side has paid the price dearly.
Joe Rodon has been a shining light in defence, and he must feel hard done by when it comes to some of his teammates’ mistakes.
Bogle’s incident with Emery perhaps reflected the mood around Leeds at the moment, as the tension continues to grow in LS11.
