Tyler Roberts twist as Leeds United stay on cards with new decision made
Leeds United have handed Tyler Roberts a new fitness programme to undergo at Thorp Arch, with QPR unlikely to use the buy option inserted in his loan deal, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Despite previously being expected to leave Leeds United for QPR this summer, an Instagram post from the 24-year-old, in which he bid a fond farewell to his loan club, suggested his time with the London club was over.
The fresh twist has hinted that a permanent stay at Elland Road is on the cards, with Roberts firstly eyeing a return to the Wales squad for their June internationals.

Roberts’ campaign with the Championship outfit has been riddled with injuries, limiting the Welsh international to just 21 appearances in total, scoring four goals along the way.
The attacker spent two large chunks of the season on the sideline while on loan at QPR and returned to Thorp Arch in March for treatment and rehabilitation for his latest injury.

Limited future at Leeds
Although Roberts is likely to remain at Leeds United for the time being while he builds his fitness back up to scratch, it is unlikely he will play a long-term role at the club.
The forward had some good times under Marcelo Bielsa, but ever since the Argentine’s departure, things have taken a turn for the worse.
The sheer number of injuries Roberts has been picking up in recent times is a risk that Leeds shouldn’t be willing to take, considering they already possess an injury-plagued striker in Patrick Bamford.
Even in the brief stints of fitness this term, the Welshman hasn’t shown enough to show he is ready to take the step back up into Premier League football.
With Roberts contracted at Elland Road until 2024, now is the time for Leeds to try and cash in their chips if there are any willing bidders.
If not, it could be another loan spell in the EFL next season, followed by a departure on a free transfer.
