Tyler Roberts complications emerge amid Leeds United exit to Birmingham City

Tyler Roberts’ move from Leeds United to Birmingham City is “complicated” according to The Sunday People’s Neil Moxley.

The Daily Mail report on Thursday 15 June, that the Midlands side are looking to complete a £750,000 deal by next week.

Moxley has revealed there is interest but stressed this is by no means an easy deal to complete.

“There is interest in Leeds’ Tyler Roberts from Blues. Told there is another forward on the shortlist as well. Any deal is complicated by the fact that it needs rubber-stamping twice-over,” said Moxley (via Twitter, 15 June).

Makes sense

This is a move that really makes sense for all involved. Roberts has been a bit-part player since Leeds’ returned to the Premier League and is unlikely to make an impact considering the influx of new additions.

He’s a decent Championship performer but Leeds have to assess whether he will be able to make an impact in a promotion-winning side. He’s done it before but football has moved on significantly since the Whites secured their return to the Premier League.

But, until a decision is made on the managerial situation, the club will be sat in limbo. Whoever gets the job will be eager to make changes.

The 49ers clearly want to make the correct appointment, and rightly so – but some sort of urgency is now required with pre-season now just a matter of weeks away.

Roberts won’t be the most high-profile departure – but don’t rule out some big names departing in the coming weeks.
