Tyler Adams pre-season injury update emerges at Leeds United amid fears of season-ending blow

Tyler Adams’ involvement in Leeds United’s preseason ahead of the 23/24 campaign is not in doubt after his latest injury setback, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Reliable source, LUFC FANZONE shared on Tuesday [28 March] that there is a “strong possibility” of the American international being ruled out for the entire season after picking up a thigh injury.

The Athletic journalist Phil Hay reported [28 March] that Adams has been “forced to undergo surgery” on his hamstring injury and is now set for an “extended” Leeds United absence but he should be back for this summer’s preparations for next season.

Yorkshire Evening Post writes [28 March]: “The midfielder, a key part of Javi Gracia’s Whites side and among the candidates for Leeds’ Player of the Season, has been on crutches since the operation but the club’s medical department will soon be able to determine the length of time he will be missing.

“YEP understands his pre-season involvement this summer is not in doubt because the club does not expect him to be a long-term absentee.”

Leeds United certainly won’t be focusing beyond the current season just yet as they face a nerve-wracking relegation dogfight with the club currently sitting just two points above the drop zone in 14th place in the table.

And Adams’ injury is a hugely damaging blow to the Whites’ chances of survival considering his importance to the team and his leadership qualities, impressive shown even though he only joined last summer.

The American international has established himself as a pivotal and key performer for the Whites since his move from RB Leipzig, featuring in 24 of their 26 Premier League games this season so far.

The dynamic midfielder’s absence is sure to leave a gaping hole in Gracia’s squad for their upcoming games but the Spaniard will have options to replace him, and summer signing Weston McKennie will certainly be heavily under the microscope now with his international teammate out for the foreseeable.

If McKennie wants to secure his dream £30m+ permanent move to Elland Road, he’d need to perform at his utmost best in the coming weeks. No pressure.

In other Leeds United news, a club are now bracing for bids on the key man the Whites have already made an approach for.
