Tyler Adams may not play again for Leeds United this season as Phil Hay shares Javi Gracia injury update
Tyler Adams may not recover from his hamstring injury in time to play again this season as Javi Gracia admits Leeds are missing his presence, Phil Hay shared.
The American suffered a hamstring problem in training in March and hasn’t featured since, undergoing surgery to correct the issue.
And while there is no timeframe on his return to action, Gracia has admitted he doesn’t know if Adams will play again this season while admitting there aren’t many options in his squad to replace the defensive midfielder.
“He’s working hard, but we need time,” he said, as quoted by Leeds Live (20 April).
“He’s a player who we can’t replace very well. We have Adam Forshaw but he was injured long-term.
“It’s an absence in an important position. There’s some young players in there that are good, but we don’t have a solution for that. We work with the players we have, very good players.”
Huge
It’s not a coincidence that Leeds have looked so much more open defensively since Adams’ injury and we’re missing him badly.
Since his hamstring problem Leeds have played five games and conceded a crazy 18 goals including 11 in their last to at home against Crystal Palace and Liverpool.

Weston McKennie and Marc Roca have deputised in central midfield together but haven’t been able to stop the poor form, while Forshaw has only just recovered from a long-term hip injury.
But with Adams not due back any time soon, Leeds need to find an alternative for that role to step in and make a difference because our Premier League lives are on the line at this point.
We need to stop conceding goals and start winning games and points to stay in the division, and we have to do it without Adams being available to us or we could well never see him in a white shirt again.
In other Leeds news, a senior player is expected to start v Fulham despite poor form as Gracia publicly backs him.
