Tyler Adams makes Tim Howard laugh with Leeds United supporters confession
Tyler Adams has spoken out on his spell with Leeds United and has made an admission which left former Premier League goalkeeper Tim Howard laughing.
The Daily Mail has shared an interview (18 June) with the American duo ahead of USA’s Copa America opener on Sunday (23 June).
Adams discussed his time with the club after his move from RB Leipzig in 2022 and his affection for the Elland Road faithful.
He said: “I resonate with those fans unbelievably well – to this day. Whether they say they hate me or not, I couldn’t care less.”
This left Howard “chuckling” given that Whites fans were left frustrated by Adams’ exit to Bournemouth last summer.
Adams added of his time at Leeds: “‘It was a no-brainer [joining them]. “[But] I honestly didn’t really know what I was getting myself into.”
Tyler Adams makes Leeds United admission
Leeds fans certainly liked the American international when he arrived, and after he got injured things just went from bad to worse for the club.
Without him in the heart of midfield alongside the likes of Marc Roca and Weston McKennie, the Whites were relegated without much fight.
Adams, despite carrying an injury, moved to the Premier League with Bournemouth in a move which left a sour taste in Leeds’ fans mouths.
As a player who had played Champions League football in the past, a move wasn’t so much of a surprise – it was the way it was handled.

With Wilfried Gnonto and Diego Llorente looking to force through moves away, it hurt supporters when the midfielder did so too.
From this interview, it is clear that he has a place in his heart for Leeds and their fans but as he says, it may be a bit late now.
Adams was, and is, a great player on his day. It’s a shame his spell at Elland Road was ruined by injuries and the manner of his departure.
