Tyler Adams given leave from Thorp Arch rehabilitation, imminent Leeds United return highly unlikely
Tyler Adams has been given leave from Leeds United’s Thorp Arch training ground as he recovers from injury, meaning an imminent return is “highly unlikely”.
The American midfielder suffered a hamstring injury last month and underwent surgery, with no guarantee that he will return to action again before the end of the season.
But it’s now been reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post (23 April) that the 24-year-old was allowed to go on leave away from the club during his rehabilitation this month for a holiday with his partner, suggesting a return is in no way close.

“However, the player was given leave from his rehabilitation at Thorp Arch this month, visiting Lake Como with his partner, suggesting an imminent return is highly unlikely,” they wrote.
Blow
It’s a huge blow that Adams is out injured right now, and it couldn’t have come at a worse time for the club in reality.
Leeds are battling for their lives at the bottom of the table, and Adams has established himself as the best and most influential midfielder at the club despite only signing last summer.

But his presence is being missed just as much off the pitch as it is on it, with a real lack of leaders showing in recent weeks in big defeats to Crystal Palace, Liverpool and then Fulham.
With a must-win game at Elland Road against Leicester on Tuesday (25 April), Javi Gracia would absolutely love to have him available but he won’t and he will have to find an alternative to get a result.
Adams may well be in the stands to cheer his colleagues on, but the quicker he can get fit and get back on the pitch the better with just a handful of games remaining.
