Tyler Adams drools over Leeds United young talent Archie Gray

Tyler Adams has been left impressed with Leeds United young talent Archie Gray.

Adams, who joined the Whites this summer from RB Leipzig for a fee of around £20m [The Atheltic], has suggested that Gray has got a “bit of arrogance” in him.

The 23-year-old has also added that Gray will have a “great career”, but the youngster doesn’t need to follow in his footsteps.

“I think Archie is going to have some big opportunities coming up this season,” said Adams, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post (28 July).

“Obviously, he’s still so young, but getting that experience is going to be important for him. When he’s on the field, he’s just himself, you can see he has that confidence, a little bit of arrogance through him and that’s what you need as a young player. And Jesse wants these types of players. He’s going to give him opportunities as long as he’s working hard, continuing to try to improve.

“It feels weird because that was like me when I first met Jesse and obviously he gave me that opportunity to sign and start my professional career so Archie seems to be, not following in my footsteps, but he’s going to have a great career.”

Huge talent

Gray is a top young talent, and it comes as no surprise that Adams has been left so impressed.

The former Leipzig player spent some time with the 16-year-old. Adams definitely feels that age is not a bar for the youngster and that Jesse Marsch will going to give him more chances this season.

Gray belongs to the great line of the Gray family, whose heroics have become legendary at the club. Archie could have a great career at Elland Road if he continues his development.

Marsch, like Marcelo Bielsa, loves to give opportunities to young talents, and Gray is expected to get some chances this season, could be in cup games.

Leeds have made some fantastic signings this summer, and despite losing Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha, they now have a very good squad.

There could be one or two more arrivals as well before the window closes. Along with new additions, it is important that the club continues to provide opportunities to young talents.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have submitted a fresh bid to sign their first-choice target this summer as a Champions League club has pulled out of the deal.
