Tyler Adams ‘definitely more open’ to Leeds United stay amid transfer ‘fight’ – Ben Jacobs
Leeds United are “fighting” to keep Tyler Adams at the club and the American has been “definitely more open” than others to remain, according to Ben Jacobs.
With first-team exits now totting up as Rodrigo’s sale to Al Rayyan is added to loan departures for Robin Koch, Brenden Aaronson, Diego Llorente and Rasmus Kristensen in terms of departures that have been made official, increasing focus is now falling on those that are still at Elland Road.
The 49ers have an eye on keeping certain key names, with the likes of Willy Gnonto and Jack Harrison added to Adams as possible holdovers, and are apparently ready to carry the biggest wage bill in the Championship in order to so.

Adams has been linked to numerous Premier League clubs this summer but Jacobs has shared a positive update on the chances that he may be convinced to remain.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the CBS journalist said: “Compared to others, Tyler Adams was definitely more open to the Leeds project and the challenge of trying to get them back into the Premier League first time.
“But there is, of course, interest and uncertainty over his future. I think that Leeds are fighting to retain him. He is recovering from injury as well, which is probably why it’s been a bit more of a delayed clarity over his future.”
Hopeful
Adams would certainly boost Daniel Farke’s hopes of leading a third promotion charge out of the second tier, but as an international captain and a solid Premier League performer he has options.
Perhaps the injury recovery is just delaying the inevitable, but as with his star teammates the fact that they are still with the club at this stage is at least one positive step.
Most of the first-team players who have gone so far, with the exception of Rodrigo, are those whose form was less than sparkling during last season’s chaos.

That they are leaving for European football and top flight leagues will leave supporters somewhat unimpressed, but any of the stronger performers who stick around will conversely be held in high esteem.
The long-awaited arrival of Farke at least provides crucial direction to the preseason, so the targets to stay can see a plan for what they would be a part of.
Fans will hope that can sway the likes of Adams to sign up for a push to get back into the Premier League, but the coming weeks are sure to be eventful in the transfer market so what the squad actually looks like once the deadline has passed is sure to be very different one way or another.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay believes that the Whites are currently in line to retain a “massive asset” for the Championship.
