Troy Deeney raves about ‘physical’ Leeds United star after what he did vs Bournemouth
Troy Deeney has named one Leeds star in his Premier League Team of the Week.
Leeds United secured another point against Bournemouth at the weekend, though there will be frustrations over the way they dropped two.
It was another stoppage time goal conceded for the Whites, who were more than deserving of a win against the Cherris at Elland Road.
With that said, several Leeds stars impressed against Andoni Iraola’s side, with one of them earning a spot in Deeney’s Team of the Week.
Joe Rodon lauded after latest Leeds display
Joe Rodon has been a crucial figure for Leeds since arriving from Tottenham, and he has adapted to the Premier League as well as anyone could have hoped.
The Welshman once again started in the heart of the defence for the Whites and very rarely put a foot wrong against a very strong Bournemouth side.

Alongside Pascal Struijk, the duo have formed a formidable partnership in the Leeds defence, with the Welshman earning recognition from Deeney after his display at the weekend.
Via BBC Sport, Deeney said: “He’s at the heart of what Leeds do well. He’s physical, good on the ball, knows when to go, and knows when to hold.
“I just think he had a really good all-round game in the draw with Bournemouth, and it was a fantastic header as well. He was unlucky not to score two.”
Jaka Bijol still waiting for his Leeds chance
Since arriving at Elland Road, Jaka Bijol has yet to play for Leeds in the Premier League, despite being one of their most expensive signings in the summer.
As a left-footed centre-back, Struijk would be the most likely to be replaced, but his partnership with Rodon has seen Farke stick with what worked so well in the Championship.
Rodon is under no threat of losing his place, with it looking as though it will take an injury or suspension to remove him from the starting 11, leaving question marks already over Bijol’s immediate future at Leeds United.
