'Tremendous', 'So many choices' - MOT Super Fans pick their Leeds Player of the Season

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road and Thorp Arch.

It has been one week since Leeds United ended their 28-year wait for a title, as they lifted the Championship trophy at Elland Road.

The Whites demolished Charlton Athletic 4-0 in West Yorkshire and brought their superb campaign to an end with delight.

Stuart Dallas and Ben White both scored that night, and also went on to enjoy great success at the annual awards ceremony the following day.

It was Dallas who was voted as the Players’ Player of the Year, with White winning the Young Player of the Year – no complaints there.

Pablo Hernandez won the overall Player of the Year for the third consecutive season, and it was that contested that the likes of Kalvin Phillips didn’t win anything.

There were so many moments from the Spaniard that led to him winning the award, but his form after the enforced lockdown may have given him the advantage.

His goal at Swansea springs to mind instantly, but his cameo performances against the likes of Fulham and Barnsley were the reasons behind those three points.

There could be a differing opinion from every single fan, with White, Dallas and Luke Ayling surely set to challenge Hernandez.

We asked our MOT Super Fans to select their Player of the Season this week, with a number of candidates getting votes.

Here’s what they said…

Dallas, White and Phillips seemed to receive the majority of votes from our panel of fans, with all three worthy winners.

Both Phillips and Dallas will be around next season, but it is yet to be seen where White will be, with Sky Sports claiming he is considering his future – time will tell.
