Landing Ampadu from Chelsea in the summer was a huge coup for Leeds, with the £7m [BBC Sport] they splashed out on the midfielder already proving value for money.

The Welshman has been one of the standout players in the entire Championship so far this season, with his combative displays playing a massive part in United’s strong start to the campaign.

There was a worrying moment in the second half against Leicester when he appeared to sustain an Achilles injury, but he was able to shake it off and continue.

Daniel Farke will be glad that he did so, as no player intercepted the ball as many times as Ampadu (three), while nobody could match his number of blocked shots (two) [WhoScored].

It is no surprise that Ampadu is already attracting interest from Premier League clubs, but hopefully, this is just the start of a long career at Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, David O’Leary has shared what he has heard about Farke from behind the scenes.
