Top British agents pitch services to Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips

All of the United Kingdom’s top agencies have reportedly pitched their services to Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

According to the Daily Mail, the situation over the player’s future is complicated as he’s in the process of changing agents.

Add to that, there is also a relegation clause in his contract that would make him available for a modest fee in the summer.

Fear beckons

If top agencies are pitching their services then they’ll have on main motive – to make a big payday out of his next move.

Sure, contract extensions see them getting their cuts, but transfers is where they make their real money.

Relegation almost guarantees that Phillips will consider his future this summer.

That fits in perfectly for his new agents who, once selected, will start offering the England international to different clubs.

It won’t be surprising that we see more of these links emerging once his new agents have been finalised.

Hopefully, for all Leeds fans, the £25k-a-week player [Times], signs a new deal and that puts an end to all speculation this summer.

But now that relegation is a very realistic possibility, he clearly would not want to play in the Championship for another season.

As this is a World Cup year, he would want to be in the spotlight as much as possible after starring at Euro 2020 and doing so in the second tier is not going to impress Gareth Southgate to that extent as it would had he been playing Premier League football.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could look to sign a ‘Phenomenal’ attacking midfielder this summer as he’s already bid farewell to fans of his club.
