Tony Dorigo waxes lyrical of new Leeds signing Dan James
Tony Dorigo has praised Welsh attacker Daniel James after he signed for Leeds United on transfer deadline day.
In a window where the Whites were linked with numerous wingers, they eventually turned to a former target and got the 23-year-old from rivals Manchester United.
While James may not have been the primary transfer target for the Yorkshire outfit, the former Leeds defender and BT Sport pundit was still delighted that they pulled off the transfer.

In his column in The Yorkshire Evening Post, Dorigo wrote, “I remember watching him against us for Swansea and he was superb, the one who looked a level above.
“Marcelo, almost obsessed, has been chasing him for a good while, and we’ve got him now, a player who can go to feet and beyond, a player with some variation in his game.
“With James you’ve got a bit of everything, you know he’s going to be busy, he’s going to annoy you and when a full-back gets on the ball he’s got the tenacity to chase him down.”
Good signing?
Leeds were unlikely to get their hands on an attacking player that would strengthen their eleven so going for one who’s been on their radar for a while has worked out to be the best possible alternative.
There were talks of a number of wingers being linked with a move to Elland Road, but none seemed to materialise so rather than not signing anyone, it made sense for Victor Orta to finally sign the player who was close to joining two and a half years ago.

He will add that sheer aggression and ability to run the hard yards, pressing down the opposition.
Much like Jack Harrison and Raphinha, he can play on either flank, but does not have the kind of end product that they do.
That said, Bielsa is known to improve players a great deal and we’re confident that James will thrive under his tutelage.
