Tony Dorigo fires Leeds warning ahead of Burnley clash, claims they ‘have to be better’

Tony Dorigo has fired a warning to Leeds United ahead of their Premier League clash against Burnley on Sunday afternoon.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have had a clear problem defending set-pieces this season, and the Clarets will be looking to exploit that at Elland Road.

The Whites scored and conceded goals from corners in that 6-2 defeat against Manchester United last weekend, making it more than three consecutive games where they’ve conceded.

Speaking to LUTV, Dorgio has claimed that the Whites have to be better at defending their own goal from dead-ball situations.

“You have to work harder at it,” he said.

“I think, I go back to not giving free-kicks away, not giving corners away so you’re better in possession, so you have a lot more of the ball so the opportunities to flourish from set-pieces is less.

“When we do give a corner-kick away, we have to be better.”

There aren’t many bigger or better at set-pieces than Burnley.

Sean Dyche has admitted that his side will be targeting that, with the likes of Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes scoring last time out against Wolves.

Leeds could be in even worst-shape than usual with Liam Cooper confirmed to be missing at Elland Road after picking up an abdominal strain last time out.

The good news is that Diego Llorente is fit to return, and it may be time for Pascal Struijk to start in the middle of defence with Luke Ayling well-and-truly exposed at Old Trafford.

These are the questions facing Bielsa, and he knows his team will be troubled by Burnley and it is something he must deal with.
