Tony Dorigo drops ‘hugely disappointing’ Leeds United relegation verdict
Tony Dorigo has insisted it will be “hugely disappointing” should Leeds United find themselves relegated come the end of the season.
Jesse Marsch’s side currently sits 17th in the Premier League, one point ahead of Burnley who play their game in hand on Thursday [May 19] night against Aston Villa.
The last day of the season is simply about surviving says Dorigo as the Whites travel to west London to face in-form Brentford.

“Staying in the Premier League will be a high note to finish on,” he told Yorkshire Evening Post.
“I think right at the start of the season I always looked at it and thought we’d have been just above the bottom five or six. We’re not actually not too many points off that, but enough to be in plenty of trouble.
“It is just about survival, simple as that and come Sunday it will be either commiserations or celebrations, there is nothing in between. If we can survive that’d be brilliant and we can then crack on next season and learn from these lessons and move forward.
“If not, it’ll be hugely, hugely disappointing, but at the moment, I think I’m still extremely positive.”
Crunch time.
This has been an absolute disaster of a season for Leeds United and whilst there are huge problems in the squad it isn’t all their fault.

There is no denying that the owners could have done better and invested more money into the squad coming into the season.
Any other season they would have gotten away with relying on the key players already in the squad to do a job but this season, a plethora of injuries has crushed the Whites.
Injuries and covid have plagued the squad this season which has made it impossible for the Elland Road outfit to do well.
When Marsch came in for Marcelo Bielsa, there was a huge lift around the club as they looked to be safe from relegation but recent weeks have seen the nightmare re-emerge.
All that Leeds can do now is win their game against Brentford – which will be very difficult – and hope that their rivals slip up.
In other Leeds United news, a journalist has insisted that Leeds could be “damned” in a major pay-cut and release clause relegation view.
