Tony Dorigo destroys Illan Meslier for Leeds v Real Betis
Leeds United crashed to a 3-2 defeat on Saturday as they continued their pre-season plans against Real Betis.
There were plenty of mistakes on show from both sides, with Illan Meslier even conceding at his near post from a nothing cross into the box.
Tony Dorigo was live on LUTV watching the clash, and labelled the efforts from the Frenchman as “awful.”

Speaking on LUTV during the friendly defeat on Saturday, Dorigo wasn’t best pleased with what he saw from Meslier.
“Once again, it’s an awful mistake,” he said.
“This is just a hopeful cross in, and at the near post, Meslier gets it all wrong. It’s a nice height but somehow slips between posts and fingers and into the net.
“You can’t be beaten from there.”
Not the best.
On the same day that Leeds delivered fresh competition for Meslier in the shape of new signing Kristoffer Klaesson, he faltered.
It is early in pre-season, and of course, players won’t be feeling 100% as they get back into the swing of things, and the French sensation has two more games to get this out of his system.
Marcelo Bielsa won’t be reading too much into these performances, but he will want more against Ajax and Villareal.
This reminds us of the shocker at Crystal Palace last season, and we just hope that Meslier can get back to his best and quickly.
There isn’t a position in world football more important than the goalkeeper of a Bielsa side at Elland Road, and pressure is a given.
We back Meslier to thrive yet again next season, and can’t wait to see how he continues to rise as our number one – bring it on.
