Tony Cascarino makes major Leeds United claim ahead of QPR clash

Tony Cascarino has made a significant claim about Leeds United as they face QPR in the Championship on Saturday.

Daniel Farke’s team will travel to Loftus Road on 15 March as they look to cement their place at the top of the league table.

Elland Road hopes for Premier League promotion this season, and the Whites will undoubtedly need to be at their best against Marti Cifuentes’ team.

The Peacocks have been one of the best teams in the Championship this season, and Cascarino has given his verdict on them.

Leeds best team in Championship after phenomenal season

Cascarino believes the West Yorkshire outfit are the best team in England’s second division.

The Irishman feels the Whites, along with Sheffield United and Burnley, have been “phenomenal” so far this season.

Cascarino lauded the Peacocks when asked about their chances of promotion to the Premier League.

Speaking on talkSPORT (15 March, 6:42), the former striker said: “[Leeds] are the best team in that division and not just because they are top, they have been. All of the top three: Burnley, Sheffield United and Leeds have been phenomenal, haven’t they?”

Farke to be confident against QPR at Loftus Road

Farke’s team had a slip-up against Portsmouth, losing 1-0 at Fratton Park on 9 March and giving the chasing pack a boost in the race for automatic promotion.

The Whites bounced back and retained the top spot in the Championship after beating Millwall 2-0 at Elland Road on Wednesday (12 March).

With Sheffield United just two points behind the West Yorkshire outfit, the German manager will be keen to secure the three points in West London.

QPR are on a terrible run, losing seven of their last nine fixtures in the league, which will give Farke confidence going into the game.

The Whites were on a 17-game unbeaten run before losing to Portsmouth and now need to build on the Millwall victory.

Considering the Peacocks have one of the best squads in the Championship, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them win automatic promotion at the end of the season.

With the international break coming up, the West Yorkshire outfit’s players will arguably be desperate to get a victory at Loftus Road before joining their respective national sides.

The traveling fans will hope for the best.
