Tom Cairney stunned by ‘electric’ Crysencio Summerville in Leeds United clash v Swansea City
Tom Cairney was stunned by the “electric” display from Crysencio Summerville during the clash between Leeds United and Swansea City on Wednesday 29 November.
Daniel Farke’s side came from behind to win 3-1 at Elland Road as goals from Joel Piroe, Georginio Rutter and Dan James ensured that Jamie Paterson’s strike in the opening minute didn’t come back to haunt the Whites in the end.
Although he didn’t get on the scoresheet himself, it was the performance of Summerville that left Fulham star Cairney stunned, with the Scotsman blown away by the amount of “havoc” the Dutchman created whilst on the ball.

Speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Special (29 November, 20:02) he said: “It’s literally all him, just get the ball to Summerville, he’s at the top of his game, he’s just full of confidence, he’s razor sharp.
“His first five yards is electric and they just can’t live with him. Just get the ball to him at the minute because he is causing havoc.
“I wouldn’t even call it Leeds, it’s basically like a one-man team going forward, I’m not even joking. He’s been a joy to watch, he’s the biggest threat going forward by a mile. Everything good that’s happening is going through him.”
Causing havoc
There are few better ways of describing Summerville’s game in the last few months than “causing havoc”. The winger has been in exceptional form for Leeds United this season and currently, there are few more electric players in the Championship than the Dutchman.
Every time he got the ball against Swansea on Wednesday he posed a threat and Michael Duff’s defenders just could not deal with his quick feet on the ball. If Leeds want to have a successful season and return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, keeping Summerville fit and firing could well be key.

Defenders across England’s second tier have been unable to work out how to stop Summerville from causing them problems from the left flank. No matter what they do the Dutchman manages to find space and create plenty of chances for his teammates and himself in the final third.
With his assist in the half on Wednesday, the 22-year-old registered his 14th goal involvement of the campaign in just his 15th appearance. If he continues to maintain this excellent form, he won’t only be the first name on the Whites’ teamsheet, but will also be a target for clubs in the Premier League.
