Jermaine Beckford ran out of words to describe Leeds United winger Raphinha as he raved about the summer signing ahead of Saturday’s game against Aston Villa.
Raphinha has been in the limelight in recent weeks as his impressive performances have the media raving over Marcelo Bielsa’s summer transfer business.
Beckford is clearly a huge fan of the Brazilian attacker as he showered Raphinha with praise on Saturday evening.
“I think his acquisition has gone under the radar,” Beckford joked on Sky Sports’ coverage of Leeds v Aston Villa.
“This guy has been a breath of fresh air, he’s so direct, he’s so clever. His first thought is ‘can I pass to a teammate?’
“He’s got a hammer of a left foot. He’s been entertaining to watch, thrilling even. He’s very quick and got bags of energy.
“Full of skill and technique. He did an outrageous backheel pirouette flick kind of thing through Gary Cahill’s legs and it was horrible. I felt for Gary. It shows the confidence thing young man is playing with.”
Beckford is just saying what we’re all thinking.
What a signing the winger has been during his debut season in the Premier League.
We’ve all known how talented he is from day one but it seems the media and the rest of the league have only cottoned on in recent weeks amid transfer links to Liverpool.
Raphinha is only getting better as the season goes on and we firmly believe he has the potential to become one of the best attackers in the Premier League.
He is loved at Elland Road and we are counting down the days until we can watch the Brazilian in the flesh after being robbed of that luxury by the pandemic.
We must keep hold of him this summer even if bids from top clubs test our resolve.
