This is why Conor Gallagher snubbed Leeds United

Leeds United were hit with the major blow of being snubbed by Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher on Thursday.

The England youth international has instead reportedly decided to join Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.

It has been reported by the Daily Mail that Patrick Vieira has won the race to bring Gallagher to Selhurst Park.

The reasoning behind the move has been explained by a greater chance of more first-team minutes by Palace.

As well as this, Gallagher is said to want to prefer a switch that keeps him in London, with little chance of game time at Chelsea.

Working with Vieira is said to have appealed to the 21-year-old, despite Leeds having one of the best coaches in the entirety of the Premier League.

This could backfire spectacularly, given the former Arsenal man’s lack of experience in management compared to El Loco.

Surely not…

There is a serious lack of ambition shown by Gallagher here.

Bielsa is known as one of the best at getting young players under his wing and make them so much better than they were at the start.

It looks as though he has taken the easy route of staying closer to home, and having a greater chance of minutes, rather than fighting for his spot at a club fighting for Europe next season.

All eyes will now be fixed on Victor Orta and his long list of targets that he has, the Spaniard will have been prepared for this.

We suspect there may be some feelings of regret should we perform as we did last season, or better as hoped, and if Vieira flops, time will tell.
