'They’d still only bring 100 fans' - Many Leeds fans hit back over comments made by Reading boss
Leeds United have had fans from across the Championship in a fit of rage this week due to Reading not being able to sell out their ticket allocation at Elland Road.
Reading face the Whites on Saturday but will not be bringing too many fans up to West Yorkshire after part of their allocation was handed to home supporters due to a lack of sales.
Royals boss Mark Bowen has responded to the issue of ticket prices for away fans at Elland Road, saying that “it doesn’t seem fair” how Leeds charge £39 for visiting supporters [Yorkshire Evening Post].
Reading charge a lot less for away fans at the Madejski and while you could argue that Leeds have better players, a better manager and are in a better position in the league, table-toppers West Brom charge just £20 a ticket for visitors.
Leeds charge £39 because that is how much home fans are charged to sit in the same area of the stadium but that does not make it ok.
While we understand that supporters are keen to defend their club’s decisions, they need to look at the bigger picture and realise that charging so much for fans who’ve made a long journey is not right.

If we win promotion this season then it’ll be us complaining about the price of away tickets at some of the Premier League’s top clubs and then realising that is how we looked in the Championship.
Still, some fans are not happy with Bowen’s comments about the ticket prices at Elland Road and have hit back at the Reading boss.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
"But there may be a method in their madness." Yeah, it's called charging away fans exactly the same as the home fans they're sat next to in the same stand. 👍

It’s also disappointing that the local paper are giving a platform for the complaints without actually doing any research on the rules for ticket pricing and providing the information we keep having to tweet

Maybe if the SKY income was relevant to the premiership teams given @LUFC are televised on par with them.. ticket prices would be less.. also tickets are priced on demand.. sell more they cost more.. sell less they cost less #businessbasics

It used to be cheaper until the police moved them to the most expensive part of the ground. However, I have a key point – it’s your biggest game of the season, so lap it up! Otherwise, we’ll have the tickets! 😂

Don't they get subsidised travel aswell? £39 is hardly breaking the bank, don't act like they'd sell out even if it was £20! Didn't see the uproar when they were at Sheff Wednesday last weekend 😒

If tickets were £20 they’d still only bring 100 fans
