‘They will cause Spurs problems’ – Michael Owen predicts result in Leeds clash v Tottenham

Michael Owen has predicted a 3-1 home win for Spurs in the Premier League game against Leeds United on Saturday.

Form is with Leeds – three wins in the last four, while Spurs have two draws and two defeats in the same period.

However, Owen thinks that “Spurs may just have too much” for a Leeds side who have “lost half of their away games” in the Premier League.

“It’s now four games without a win for Spurs,” Owen said in his regular predictions column for BetVictor.

“Jose Mourinho’s men suffered late heartache against Wolves on Sunday and must get back on track here against Leeds.

“Leeds make the trip to North London for the first time since 2003. They arrive here fresh from a 5-0 win away to West Brom, making it three wins in four Premier League matches.

“Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been a hard team to get a handle on this season. I reckon they will cause Spurs problems but considering that they have lost half of their away games in the league, I think Spurs may just have too much here.”

Free hit for Leeds

We’ve been waiting for Bielsa v Mourinho all season and we’re under no illusion as to the size of the task facing Leeds on Saturday.

Leeds might have taken the game to Liverpool and got a point from Man City in a brilliant game but we’ve not beaten anyone from the top six yet.

And the last couple of games against top opposition – Chelsea and Man United – have resulted in two pretty harsh lessons.

Spurs have started falling down the table after a fast start and a Leeds win would see us on the same points as Tottenham – that would be pretty incredible.

However, we keep talking about free hits for Leeds and we think this is another one, especially after the last two games.

Getting anything from the game would be a bonus and it’s hard to see it differently from the way the bookies have got it – 3/4 for a Spurs win and 3/1 for a Leeds victory.

The draw is 3/1 as well and if Leeds hit the heights we know they can, they can definitely take something back to Elland Road.

However, Harry Kane and Son scare us and the last thing we want to see is another heavy defeat.
