'They couldn't pick a worse place' - Frank sends message to Leeds ahead of clash v Brentford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has warned Leeds United that they could not pick a worse place to play on Tuesday night than Griffin Park.

Leeds travel to the capital this week in the hope of ending a dreadful run of form that has seen the gap between themselves in the top two and the chasing pack reduced to nothing.

Although the Whites are still second in the Championship standings, they are now level on points with third-placed Fulham and Tuesday’s opponents Brentford are only two points behind the Yorkshire giants in fifth.

It means that Leeds will drop out of the automatic promotion spots on Tuesday if they lose against Frank’s men this week.

Brentford have the fourth-best home record in the Championship, losing just three times there this season and Frank is fully aware of that record before Leeds arrive at Griffin Park.

“We definitely have more momentum than Leeds right now,” he said, as quoted by Brentford’s official Twitter account on Monday.

“Everyone knows how much I respect Marcelo Bielsa and what he has done to build up Leeds as a club and as a team but they couldn’t pick a worse place to play Tuesday night.”

At the moment, it does not matter where Leeds play because they are really struggling to string together a decent run of results.

Bielsa has only seen his side win once since the start of 2020 and defeats in the last two matches to Wigan and Nottingham Forest has caused a huge dent in the Whites’ bid for automatic promotion.

The chasing pack are starting to improve while league leaders West Brom have also picked themselves up, dusted themselves off and won their last two to move four points clear of Leeds.

It is about time that the Whites are able to do the same thing but we all know how terrible their record in London is.
