‘Stunning’, ‘Should be illegal’ – These Leeds fans react as club posts ‘breathtaking’ footage

After the 1-1 draw between Leeds United and Luton, it’s been a week of recriminations from fans on Twitter.

But, going into the Blackburn game on Saturday, let’s focus on the positives. Six points clear of third, one point clear at the top, six games left – Leeds are still in prime position for the Premier League.

And we’ve got Pablo Hernandez. So we didn’t forget, Leeds United posted a montage of a few of Pablo Hernandez’s finest assists for the club and called it, “Simply breathtaking”.

Leeds fans were falling over themselves to agree on Twitter.

The first was the first-time pass to Jack Harrison that led to the third goal in the 3-0 mauling of Fulham on Saturday.

The vision is incredible but the execution of the pass is just stunning.

Talking this week, Hernandez said more about this amazing pass: “It’s not just about the speed of your feet. It’s about the speed of thinking. I try to think about my next pass before I receive the ball.”

But this isn’t anything out of the ordinary for Hernandez, as you can see from the other passes on the clip.

He has the skills to unlock any defence in England – we truly believe that will include defences in the Premier League – and although he’s 35 he’s still producing vintage performances.

He’s a doubt to start on Saturday. He said himself he wasn’t 100% ahead of the Luton draw and we still don’t think he’s fully fit.

Managing him now is all-important between now and the end of the season. If it means playing him in bit-parts then that’s what Bielsa will do.

Meanwhile, here’s what the Leeds fans made of the stunning footage, with one fan calling for a statue to be made of Hernandez and another calling him the best player Leeds have seen in “16 dark years”…
