‘There were no wrongdoings’ – Tyler Roberts makes claim about 2018 exit from West Brom
Tyler Roberts has revealed that there were no wrongdoings when he left West Brom to join Leeds United in January 2018.
Leeds paid £4million to sign Roberts, even though he had only ever made one senior appearance for the Baggies during his time at The Hawthorns.
The 21-year-old has struggled with injuries and fitness for most of his two-years at Elland Road but when he gets a run of games, he usually performs really well.
One of Roberts’ best displays for Leeds came last season when he pulled the strings in a 4-0 win against West Brom at Elland Road.
“West Brom at home last season,” Roberts told Leeds’ official website when asked what his favourite moment at the Yorkshire club is. “Not just because it was my old team, because there were no wrongdoings or anything like that.
“I just think the atmosphere that was created by the fans, I’ve never experienced playing in something like that before, it was like a party inside of the stadium. Because we scored so early, for the whole game it was bouncing, it was so sick.”
For £4million, Leeds signed a versatile attacking player who, despite his injury issues, is able to step up and really pull off big performances when it matters.
Marcelo Bielsa has played the Wales international up front as a striker, out wide and even in the centre of the midfield.
He rarely disappoints when he plays but hopefully his injury issues can be a thing of the past now after scoring twice at Hull last month.
