Teammate claims top Leeds target leaving despite training camp sighting, Whites want quick deal
Robin Koch has been named as the top centre-back target for Leeds United as the Whites move on from a failed attempt to land Ben White.
According to German outlet Kicker, Koch travelled with Freiburg to their training camp in Schruns as they prepare to play second division Austrian side FC Dornbirn in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
However, talking from the training camp, Freiburg left-back Christian Günter admitted that Koch would be leaving the club.
Günter said, “We have a good, talented squad, and if the majority stay together, we have a really good team, but we may still need one or the other across the board as Robin should still be leaving.”

Big development today?
Today could be very interesting as far as a move for Koch goes.
Athletic journalist Phil Hay said that Leeds would try to push a deal through over the weekend.
If the deal does accelerate then we could see Koch not playing any part in the pre-season match against FC Dornbirn today.
That match is set to kick-off at 1.30pm UK time and if Koch is absent from the game, Leeds fans can start to get excited.
It does look like Koch is on the move after Günter’s comments and Leeds are surely the front-runners at the moment.
Leeds chief Angus Kinnear said Leeds were at “advanced stages” with a number of centre-backs and “close” to landing one of them.
Talking on Sky Sports, Kinnear said, “If it’s not Ben White we have other options that are at advanced stages and we’ll be closing in on one of them soon.”
We’ll be watching events in Austria very carefully this afternoon.
