Tammy Abraham major injury concern for Chelsea ahead of clash v Leeds

Tammy Abraham is a doubt for Chelsea this weekend when Leeds United welcome the London club to Elland Road, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The newspaper claims Leeds are likely to be without Jamie Shackleton, Robin Koch, Pascal Struijk, Pablo Hernandez and long-term absentee Adam Forshaw on Saturday.

Chelsea’s injury list is far shorter but it is understood they do have “one major injury concern” as striker Abraham, 23, could miss out with an ankle injury.

Chelsea strong without England man

Abraham has been in good goalscoring form for Chelsea this season and Thomas Tuchel will miss not having the England centre-forward in his squad at the weekend at Leeds.

He’s made 30 appearances in all competitions for the Blues this term, scoring 12 goals and supplying six assists in the process.

While only six of those goals have been in the Premier League with the last one coming on Boxing Day, he’s still a top striker who any team would miss if he’s injured.

But Chelsea are in very good form despite being without Abraham in recent games due to his ankle injury.

The Stamford Bridge side has been unbeaten in their last nine Premier League outings, keeping six clean sheets in the process.

In attack, they haven’t been free-scoring but managed to secure wins over Liverpool and in-form Everton without Abraham.

It could be a tough afternoon for Leeds on Saturday regardless.
