talkSPORT pundit makes ‘Conflicted’ Leeds United v Plymouth prediction as Wayne Rooney belief shared
Sam Parkin predicts Leeds United will get a 3-1 victory against relegation-threatened Plymouth Argyle in the Championship.
Elland Road will host Wayne Rooney’s team on 2 November in what will be a crunch fixture for the Pilgrims as they sit 21st in the league table.
The team from Devon have lost two of their last three matches in the league, and Parkin expects the Whites to come away with the three points despite potential changes from Rooney.
“I’m going to look into my crystal ball and suggest that Wayne Rooney is going to do something slightly different,” said former Ipswich and Luton player Parkin, now a pundit for the likes of ITV and talkSPORT, to journalist Benjamin Bloom on his YouTube channel (30 October).
“Albeit, I’m a little bit conflicted because they went to some big teams in the Championship, some top teams, and performed admirably and only lost narrowly.
“That could feasibly happen again. I’ll go for them to set up differently, maybe pose a little more of a threat, but still come away defeated.
“3-1 Leeds.”
Leeds United to be comfortable against Plymouth Argyle
Leeds faithful aspire to see their team back in the Premier League, and Daniel Farke looks to have the team on the path to promotion as things stand.
The Whites are currently third in the league table, level on points with second-placed Burnley and five points behind table toppers Sunderland.
Recent results have seen the team stumble a bit, with two wins and three draws in the last five league matches.
But the Peacocks have had a tough run of games, coming up against the likes of Sunderland, Sheffield United and Watford.
Farke has done a brilliant job getting results despite losing key players like Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev.
The German manager has done brilliantly with the personnel at his disposal, and the addition of Josuha Guilavogui will only add to the depth of the squad, which was much needed.
Plymouth’s away record is abysmal, scoring just one goal and conceding 13 on the road, which would suggest that Leeds should have a comfortable outing against Rooney’s side.
