TalkSPORT pundits drool over Mateusz Klich in Leeds United win v Barnsley
Mateusz Klich produced a magnificent performance as Leeds United move to the next round of the EFL Cup after winning 3-1 against Barnsley at Elland Road on Wednesday night.
Luis Sinisterra scored the opening goal with a brilliant effort from 25 yards out, but Klich produced an all-round by bagging a brace on the night.
Danny Mills and Jim Proudfoot were left stunned by the performance of Klich on talkSPORT, as he was arguably the best player on the pitch.
“Klich has been sensational tonight. Thoroughly deserves his two goals,” said Proudfoot on talkSPORT.
Mills added: “He has been absolutely superb. Attitude has been spot on. In terms of quality and composure, he has been head and shoulders above everyone today on the pitch.”
What a performance!
Actions speak louder than words. And Klich did exactly that.
He is a senior member of the side, and he responded with a fabulous performance.
Jesse Marsch spoke about Klich time and time this summer, where he refused to rule out an exit for the player.
The Whites boss has got great respect for the player but he wanted more from him.
The Polish international has now shown him that he can be trusted again. In the absence of Kalvin Phillips, he can shoulder the responsibility.
Klich simply dominated the midfield and scored two brilliant goals to take Leeds to the next round of the competition.
His performance will give Marsch plenty to think about and Klich certainly has done enough today to change his manager’s decision.
Surely he deserves to get more game time based on this performance. At the same time, his potential suitors could be tempted now to make a move for him.
