Neil Redfearn compared Leeds United defender Joe Rodon to Bobby Moore following a big tackle in the Whites' Championship clash with Norwich City.

Daniel Farke's side managed to extend their winning run to five games in all competitions with a 1-0 win over the Canaries on Wednesday (24 January) with Patrick Bamford's excellent first-half header proving to be the difference between the two sides.

However, the Whites were made to work hard defensively for the three points, with Rodon producing another excellent display at the heart of the backline, with one of his interventions seeing Redfearn reference Moore's tackle on Pele.

Speaking on talkSPORT 2 (24 January, 21:26) he said: "That was like the Bobby Moore challenge against Pele, remember that far back in the 1970 World Cup? Just stood there and took it off of him. Great play from the big centre-back."

Good company to keep

Rodon has been a revelation in the Leeds United backline this season. The Welshman seems to manage to get better with each passing week and he played a huge role in the Whites' win on Wednesday night.

To compare him to Moore may be a slight stretch, after all this is only Championship football, but the manner in which the Tottenham loanee goes about his business in the defensive third shows that he could easily be playing in the Premier League.

Leeds United

Whenever Norwich threatened to get in behind the defence, he managed to find a way to sweep up and win back possession. When he performs like that, it seems almost impossible for Leeds to concede, let alone lose matches.

Hopefully, Farke will have the Welsh international fit and available for the remainder of the season, especially with Pascal Struijk still on the treatment table. Rodon could play a huge part in the Whites' automatic promotion push this season.
