Swansea share new postponement update v Leeds United
Leeds United’s trip to Swansea on Sunday will not be postponed as things stand, Adam Pope has shared.
Storm Bert has caused chaos in the Football League, with games at Blackburn, Bradford, Fleetwood and Salford being called off on 23 November.
Pope shared a message from Swansea on 24 November, saying that no pitch inspection is planned and the game is currently not in doubt.
The BBC broadcaster wrote on X: “I’ve had a message from Swansea City this morning and the club say: ‘The game will be on and is not in doubt as it stands.’
“No pitch inspection planned yet.”
Leeds United postponement update
Daniel Farke’s side sit fourth in the Championship with a game in hand as all their promotion rivals played on Saturday 23 November.
They will go top of the table due to their superior goal difference with the top three level on points at the summit if the Whites overcome their Welsh opposition.
After the heartache of last season, when they finished third and missed out on automatic promotion despite occupying the top two for most of the season, it is simply a must-win contest.
Patrick Bamford has been tipped to make his first league start of the season with the former Chelsea man potentially replacing Mateo Joseph upfront.
That is a risk, the 31-year-old has scored one goal since April while the Spanish youngster has two goals and three assists in nine league starts so far this season and Joel Piroe has notched six goals and two assists in his 15 league appearances.
Leeds should have enough to beat the Welsh outfit and put their destiny into their own hands, although it is still very early in the season, it would be a huge momentum boost for the Elland Road club.
